“The app stops” can describe several different failures. Does it disappear and return you to the device home screen? Do menus stop responding? Or do the controls still work while video loads? Observe the screen and remote response before changing settings.
Recognise a crash pattern
If the app closes unexpectedly, record the action immediately before it closes: opening a category, selecting a title or resuming playback. Note the app and device version. If the same action repeats the failure, preserve that sequence for support instead of repeatedly reinstalling without a comparison.
Recognise a playback wait
If controls remain usable and a loading indicator appears, compare another channel or title. This may point toward content or connectivity rather than a whole-application failure. If every part of the device becomes unresponsive, note that broader problem and whether other apps behave similarly.
Choose a proportionate next step
Try a normal app or device restart for a temporary state, then repeat the original action. Save credentials before clearing data or reinstalling. If the failure remains reproducible, send the sequence and versions. A factory reset can remove useful information and should have a clear reason.
Your checklist
- Check whether the app closes or stays open.
- Test whether menus still respond.
- Record the exact action that triggers the fault.
What to take away
The behaviour of the interface is evidence. A crash, frozen app and buffering stream need different investigations even if all interrupt viewing.
