A mesh node close to the television can improve local coverage, but the node also needs a reliable path through the rest of the network. When streaming is inconsistent, inspect the complete arrangement instead of judging only the distance between the screen and the nearest node.
Identify the current connection
Use the router or mesh system’s supported interface to see which node serves the device, if that information is available. A device may remain connected to a different node than you expect. Note the model and arrangement before changing placement or advanced roaming settings.
Compare a simpler path
If practical, test the same stream closer to the main router or through a supported wired path. Keep the player and content unchanged. If that reliably improves playback, investigate the mesh placement and inter-node connection. A successful comparison suggests a direction; it does not identify a specific component by itself.
Change placement methodically
Move only one node at a time and follow the manufacturer’s placement guidance. Allow the network to settle before testing again. Record the old position so you can return to it. Do not change account credentials or reinstall the player to address an observed mesh coverage problem.
Your checklist
- Identify the serving node if possible.
- Compare a simpler network path.
- Move one component at a time.
What to take away
A nearby node is one part of the route. Judge the full path by repeatable playback at the television, not just signal bars.
